Children's Cancer Foundation aims to develop our services for both cancer and other life-threatening illnesses. To cope with our service development, we are now inviting passionate applicant to join us in supporting and walking with young patients with medical complex conditions and their families at difficult times.
Descriptions
Duties :
Render outreach psychosocial support, counselling and group work for young patients, and their families suffering from a life-threatening and life-limiting illness, including cancer
Provide community rehabilitation services for children cancer survivors
Provide bereavement care for families losing a child
Collaborate with a wide range of healthcare workers, schools, agencies and other NGOs to provide a continuum of care services for patients and their families
Identify service gaps and develop new services for patients and families with special needs
Requirements :
A recognised degree in social work from a recognised institution in Hong Kong or equivalent, with registration as a Registered Social Worker in Hong Kong
Strong passion for helping children and adolescents with life-threatening and life-limiting illnesses and their families
At least 5 years of post-qualification experience in the field. Experience in casework for children and families, end-of-life and bereavement care will be an advantage
Proficiency in written and spoken English and Chinese
Need to work on non-office hours for patients' and families' programmes or for urgent support to families
Qualified candidates with less experience will be considered as junior social worker
