The appointee will be responsible for (a) leading stakeholder engagement and negotiations with the University's internal units, and external partners to drive strategic innovation and impact initiatives; (b) providing expert oversight and management of major funding programmes, including the development, submission, and post-award administration of significant applications to schemes such as RAISe+, TSSSU, and other government / innovation funds; (c) providing strategic secretarial support to high-level committees, including preparing complex reports, policy papers, and presentations; (d) directing the preparation of comprehensive impact reports, data analysis, and business cases for strategic planning; (e) leading the co-ordination and delivery of flagship events, workshops, and partnership activities; and (f) managing ad-hoc strategic projects and providing senior-level administrative leadership.
Applicants should have (i) a good Bachelor's degree or above, preferably in a relevant discipline; (ii) fulfilled the English language requirements set out on the website : https://www.hro.cuhk.edu.hk/en-gb/languageforeo ; (iii) at least 8 years' relevant post-qualification executive experience, with a proven track record in securing and managing major competitive funding (e.g., RAISe+, TSSSU, ITF grants); (iv) extensive experience in drafting high-quality funding applications, strategic reports, and policy papers; (v) an excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese; (vi) outstanding strategic, analytical, and problem-solving abilities; (vii) a highly proactive and results-oriented work attitude, with demonstrated competence in leading multiple complex projects; (viii) the ability to work autonomously, exercise sound judgment, and perform under tight deadlines; (ix) exceptional interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills for liaising with senior stakeholders; and (x) advanced computer literacy. Prior experience in working with governmental funding programmes for research or knowledge transfer within a Higher Education Institution (HEI) will be advantageous. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.
Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for up to 2 years (with contract-end gratuity for a 2-year contract), renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
