Director (Psychosocial Services Department)

Descriptions

Responsibilities :

  • Supervise planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of key programs, including the Cancer Survivorship Program, End-of-Life Care Project, and Diversional Therapy Programs, volunteer programs, etc.
  • Develop new initiatives and expand existing services based on community needs and best practices.
  • Ensure programs meet organizational mission, values, and strategic goals.
  • Lead a multidisciplinary team of social workers, nurses, spiritual officers, and support staff, fostering a collaborative and culturally sensitive environment.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and professional development opportunities to team members.
  • Ensure high-quality, holistic, person-centered psychosocial support services addressing emotional, social, spiritual, and psychological needs.
  • Establish quality assurance frameworks and ensure adherence to ethical practice and relevant standards.
  • Manage program budgets, resource allocation, and financial accountability across all projects.
  • Monitor project outcomes, prepare data reports for leadership and stakeholders, and ensure compliance with regulatory and funding requirements.
  • Co-ordinate the publicity through various means to let more people know about the services for patients and their carers.
  • Submit proposal for funding support from charitable foundations to benefit the service recipients of the programme and to oversee its delivery.
  • Ensure smooth coordination among all collaborating partners with performance up to expectation and standard.
  • Advocate the service model to the government, hospitals, NGOs, etc.
  • Develop communication channels and work with other stakeholders like government bureau / departments, Hospital Authority, district health centres, GPs, NGOs, patient groups, etc.
  • Coordinate with academics for project evaluation.

Requirements :
  • University degree holder with track records of working with diverse and multi-level stakeholders, creating collaborative platforms, and building partnerships and alliances.
  • At least 10 years of solid experience in project management with a minimum of 8 years in a senior position.
  • Experience in managing the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust funded projects is preferred.
  • Professional background in health, nursing, social work or social welfare sector would be an advantage.
  • Outstanding leadership qualities with experience in leading a multi-disciplinary team in a non-profit setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop strategies and programmes for patient care, or support the underprivileged population.
  • Adept at establishing rapport with diverse stakeholders, including government bureaux/departments, hospitals, NGOs and patient groups.
  • Ability to plan, implement and evaluate progress and steer to achieve pledged outcomes and outputs in a timely manner.
  • Flexible to adapt to changes in the needs of the serving population and external environment.
  • Highly collaborative, with strong attention to detail and excellent organisation skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, proficient in both written and verbal English and Chinese.
  • Proficiency in computer software such as Microsoft Office and online communication channels.

Successful candidates will be offered a renewable contract term appointment with up to 10% of total basic salary as contract-end gratuity upon completion of contract with satisfactory performance.
