Senior Human Resources Manager

Established in 1901, Chinese YMCA of Hong Kong is a major International Non-Government Charitable Organization in Hong Kong providing a spectrum of services for the betterment of the Hong Kong people in particular the poor and needy with a special focus to assist and empower the youth in Hong Kong to develop a holistic character with a passion to serve and contribute to the community in the spirit of the teachings of Jesus Christ and the Holy Bible: "To serve, not to be served". The Association is now looking for high caliber candidates to fill the above position.

Responsibilities :

  • Report directly to General Secretary and lead the Human Resources Department to develop and implement full range of human resources strategies, policies and functions;
  • Work closely with top management of a wide range of operations, from social services, education to hostel, to identify human resources initiatives and provide advice on talent acquisition and management that support the Association's goals and objectives;
  • Facilitate organizational effectiveness by regular review of human resources policies, organization and personnel structures as well as human resources workflow that direct to continuous improvements;
  • Ensure all human resources policies and practices are in compliance with the relevant legal and regulatory requirements;
  • Develop and implement initiatives / programmes for staff development and promotion of positive employee relationships; and
  • Coach and develop staff of the Human Resources Department to deliver effective support to departments / units in handling HR issues.

Requirements :
  • Bachelor Degree or above in Social Work / Human Resources Management / Business Administration / Public Administration or related disciplines from a recognized University;
  • Minimum 10 years of solid administrative / human resources experience, of which at least 5 years are in managerial position. Work experience gained in NGO is an added advantage;
  • Sound knowledge in relevant legislations and HR functions like performance and reward management, compensation and benefits etc.;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with various levels of management;
  • Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese;
  • A dynamic and forward-thinking work approach is a definite asset;
  • Member of Institute of Human Resources Management is preferable; and
  • Knowledge of using an HRIS system is an advantage.
