The Centre for Studies of Daoist Culture invites applications for a Research Associate / Research Assistant position.

Applicants should have (i) a Master's degree, preferably in Chinese Studies, Daoist Studies, or a related discipline; (ii) at least four years' post-qualification experience in translation of classical Chinese text into English (for Research Associate); (iii) a proven track record of research; (iv) high proficiency in written and spoken English and profound knowledge of classical Chinese; (v) the ability to work independently and under pressure; and (vi) prior experience in publishing is preferred.

The appointee will be responsible for (a) editing manuscripts for journal and book publication; (b) assisting in Daoist Ritual Music project and monitoring the project progress; (c) assisting in Centre's research projects; and (d) contributing to other academic activities organised by the Centre and perform any other duties as assigned.

Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for one year commencing as soon as possible, renewable subject to mutual agreement.
