Reporting to the Vice-President (Administration), the appointee will provide strategic leadership and overall management of the University's security, safety, transport and traffic operations. The appointee will lead the Security Office, which comprises more than 100 uniformed security officers on establishment to maintain round-the-clock security operations at the University's campus and properties, as well as attend to campus safety, traffic and parking control, and other emergency duties in the University. He/She will also supervise the Transport Office which provides intra-campus bus service and official car service. Additionally, the appointee will oversee relevant service contracts and vendor performance, foster effective collaboration with internal stakeholders and external agencies, and support relevant committees by serving as Secretary and providing professional advice on matters within the portfolio. The appointee should advocate and support national security and its implementations under relevant laws in Hong Kong.
Applicants should have (i) a University degree; (ii) extensive experience, at least ten years at supervisory level, in the police or related services, or in a responsible position for the security and safety of a large organisation; (iii) proven leadership, strategic planning and people management capabilities; (iv) sound judgement, strong communication and stakeholder management skills; (v) proficiency in both Chinese and English; and (vi) a valid driving license.
Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for up to three years commencing March 2027, renewable subject to mutual agreement. The University reserves the right to fill the post by invitation / nomination.
