The Office of Admissions and Financial Aid (OAFA) is a multifaceted unit overseeing undergraduate admissions, scholarships, and financial aid, and play a strategic role in advancing the University's admissions goals. OAFA is looking for energetic, highly motivated, and independent candidates who are passionate about striving for excellence in admissions work and committed to attracting diverse, high-calibre students from Hong Kong and beyond. The appointee will be responsible for supporting local student admissions, with a particular focus on the planning, implementation and evaluation of local admissions and student recruitment initiatives. The position requires strong organisational, analytical, and communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively across multiple stakeholders including Faculties, Schools, Departments and administrative units, as well as engagement with external partners and prospective students. Duties include (a) taking a leading role in admissions operations, data analysis and reporting, and admissions system support; (b) co-ordinating the maintenance, enhancement and user support of admissions-related systems; (c) maintaining admissions databases, processing admissions data, and preparing statistical reports; (d) planning, co-ordinating, and supporting admission outreach, recruitment, and promotion activities; and (e) providing team support and junior staff supervision. Work irregular hours to support admissions outreach, recruitment and promotional activities may be required.
Applicants should have (i) a good Bachelor's degree; (ii) fulfilled the language requirements set out on the website : https://www.hro.cuhk.edu.hk/en-gb/languageforeo ; (iii) at least 5 years' post-qualification executive experience; (iv) an excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Cantonese and Putonghua); (v) strong communication, interpersonal, organisational and presentation skills; (vi) good analytical and problem-solving skills, with a high level of attentiveness to detail and accuracy; (vii) good computer literacy, preferably with experience in database management, reporting and analytics tools, or admissions-related systems; (viii) a strong sense of responsibility, self-motivation and service orientation; (ix) the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and under pressure; and (x) a positive, flexible and proactive attitude, with a willingness to embrace new challenges and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. Having experience in the higher education sector on admissions and student recruitment, data analysis, system support or project management is preferred. Having knowledge of the local higher education sector, experience in JUPAS admissions, student recruitment, outreach activities, data analysis, IT system support, database management, or liaison with secondary schools will be advantageous. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.
Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for up to 2 years (with contract-end gratuity for a 2-year contract), renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
