The Faculty of Science has over 4,000 students guided by more than 400 teaching and research staff, and has six major teaching units offering a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
Reporting to the Faculty Secretary, the appointee will be responsible for (a) providing support in student affairs, admissions and committee services; (b) handling student matters, applications and enquiries; (c) co-ordinating and providing support for admissions and Faculty events; (d) preparing publicity materials; (e) performing general liaison work with University Departments / Units and external parties; and (f) performing other tasks as assigned. Working beyond normal office hours or during weekends may be required occasionally.
Applicants should have (i) a good Bachelor's degree; (ii) at least 2 years of post-qualification administrative experience, preferably in the tertiary education sector or similar organisations; (iii) proficiency in IT applications, including Microsoft 365 (especially Excel and PowerPoint), PDF, ZOOM, MS Teams, and Chinese word processing (knowledge of graphic design tools such as Adobe Illustrator or Canva would be an advantage); (iv) a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Cantonese and Putonghua); (v) strong attention to detail and organisational skills; (vi) good interpersonal, communication, time-management, and problem-solving skills; and (vii) a high sense of responsibility, self-motivation, and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.
Applicants must provide English and Chinese language examination results (e.g., HKDSE, HKCEE, HKALE, IELTS, TOEFL) and the academic qualifications stated above in the online application, otherwise their applications will NOT be considered.
Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for up to 2 years (with contract-end gratuity for a 2-year contract), renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
