Role overview
We are seeking an experienced, entrepreneurial, and people-focused Executive Director to lead SBHK's strategic growth, program excellence, fundraising, and operations. Reporting to the Board of Directors, you will deliver SBHK's vision, ensure financial sustainability, strengthen partnerships, engage with stakeholders and lead a committed team to maximise impact for students from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Key responsibilities
- Provide inspiring and effective leadership that promotes SBHK's mission and vision
- Oversee the planning and implementation of SBHK's programs
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the organisation
- Oversee financial planning and management
- Recruit, develop, motivate, and mentor staff and volunteers to strategically grow SBHK's impact
- Establish goals, objectives, and operational plans in collaboration with the Board and internal team
- Work closely with the Board to devise and implement fundraising strategies
- Initiate, cultivate, and extend relationships with SBHK's portfolio of individual, foundation, and corporate supporters
- Build and maintain strong relationships with funders, schools, community partners, and other stakeholders
- Oversee communications, marketing and digital presence of SBHK
- Ensure timely and effective communications with the Board to support effective governance and decision-making
Requirements
- Significant senior leadership experience (typically 5+ years), ideally within the non-profit, education or social sector
- Familiarity with diverse business functions such as fundraising, public relations, financial management, etc.
- Strong operational and people management skills with experience translating strategy into measurable outcomes
- Proven success in fundraising, donor cultivation and partnership development with corporates, foundations, schools and government
- Excellent written, oral, and public speaking skills; a persuasive and passionate communicator with strong interpersonal and multidisciplinary project skills
- Bachelor's degree
- Fluency in English essential; Cantonese and/or Mandarin is desirable
