The Department of Information Engineering (IE) is looking for Technicians to support the IT services in the Department. Duties include (a) assisting in the support, setup, and maintenance of IT infrastructure for various server rooms, labs, offices, and seminar rooms; (b) providing technical front-end user support to staff and students; (c) providing on-site technical support during non-office hours occasionally; and (d) performing other tasks as assigned by the supervisors.

Applicant should have (i) a Bachelor's degree, Higher Diploma or Higher Certificate in Information Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related disciplines from a recognised university or technical institute; (ii) at least 3 years' hands-on experience in Networking, System Administration, and PC LAN operation; (iii) good knowledge of Cisco routing and switching, Linux, Windows Server, Office Automation, Client PC and mobile device setup and maintenance, E-lock, CCTV, AV system, and Network Printing; (iv) proficiency in written and spoken English and Chinese; (v) good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills; (vi) excellent communication and customer service skills in front-end support; (vii) the ability to work independently with minimal supervision and under pressure; and (viii) good team spirit and self-motivation. Applicants who do not fulfil (i) on the above but have a relevant Diploma / Certificate may be considered for appointment as Probationary Technician(s).

Appointment will initially be made on a 2-year contract with contract-end gratuity, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
