Project : Urban Graduation Approach to Uplift Poor Households out of Poverty

City University of Hong Kong is one of the co-organisers of the Urban Graduation Approach to Uplift Poor Households Project, created and funded by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust. The Project is a fi ve-year Trust-initiated Project that implements Urban Graduation Approach (UGA) as a targeted, multitudinous and time-bounded poverty alleviation model to empower and lift poor households living in transitional housing (TH) out of poverty. By addressing barriers and providing relevant resources and opportunities, the Project aims to assist families in both immediate and long-term upward mobility, uplifting them out of poverty. This project also works closely with NGOs which operate TH projects for serving the underprivileged and disadvantaged groups.

Duties : The appointee will report to the Principal Investigators and work closely with other team members of the Project. Main duties include to: manage the overall program implementation and coordination; supervise, coach, and support Family Capacity Building Planners (FCBP) in various TH projects; lead and coordinate FCBP training; facilitate the implementation of the Urban Graduation Approach to uplift poor households in TH; engage eff ectively with diff erent NGOs' senior workers and management; and perform other duties as assigned. Working on Saturdays/Sundays/public holidays and travelling between diff erent workplaces may be required.

Requirements : A Bachelor's degree with at least 10 years of relevant post-qualifi cation experience, preferably with at least 3 years of supervision and team management experience; a registered social worker in Hong Kong; strong commitment to poverty alleviation; ability to work in a diverse and challenging environment with diff erent work settings; good command of written English and Chinese; self-motivation with strong sense of responsibility; and ability to work independently and eff ectively in a team are required. Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a written test.

Salary and Conditions of Service
Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifi cations and experience. Appointment will be made on a fi xed-term contract; fringe benefi ts include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes.
