The overall aim of the MSW programme is to prepare Bachelor’s degree holders to become advanced generic social work practitioners on a part-time study basis. The programme focuses on three core pillars:
•Generic Social Work Practice: Provides a broad-based framework of values, knowledge, and skills to address complex social problems across individual, family, group, and community levels.
•Critical Reflection: Nurtures the ability to reflect on challenging contexts, enabling practitioners to handle practice uncertainties and deliver flexible, high-quality services.
•Commitment to “Scholarship in Practice”: Integrates evidence-based research with frontline experience, empowering practitioners to examine and generate practical insights through ongoing inquiry.

Special Features of the MSW programme:
•Advanced generic social work practice as the training focus
•Multidisciplinary approach to social work practice
•Integration of social work knowledge and personal capabilities

Graduates are eligible to apply for registration as Registered Social Workers (RSW) in Hong Kong.

For registration as a RSW, please refer to the requirement and application procedure as stipulated by the Social Workers Registration Board (SWRB) by visiting the Board's official website.
