The Master of Social Sciences in Adversity and Trauma Psychology at Hong Kong Shue Yan University is the first programme of its kind, designed to meet the growing need for expertise in trauma management and adversity response. Grounded in psychological theories and life course ecological model, it provides a thorough understanding of the effects of adversity and trauma across the lifespan. With training in knowledge, trauma-informed assessment, prevention, and management, the programme aims to equip students with the knowledge and skills to enhance mental health support within Tiers 1 and 2 of the stepped care model for diverse communities in Hong Kong and beyond.
