Hong Kong Arts Development Council
Chief Executive
Established in 1995, the Hong Kong Arts Development Council ("The Council" / "HKADC") is a statutory body set up by the Government to support the broad development of the arts in Hong Kong. Its major roles include grant allocation, policy and planning, advocacy, promotion and development, and programme. We are now inviting suitable candidates for the above vacancy.
Descriptions
Reporting to the Chairman of the Council and the Hong Kong Arts Development Fund Advisory Committee ("Trust"). The Chief Executive leads a group of staff over 120 and directs / supervises the operation of the Administration Office of the Council and its employees.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading the team in executing the strategies, policies, objectives and schemes of the Council and its committee in supporting the development of the arts in Hong Kong.
- Engaging and forging collaboration with counterparts in the Mainland (in particular the Greater Bay Area) and international arts and culture authorities and community and frequent Mainland and international travel is expected.
- Spearheading the administration of the grants system of the Council.
- Initiating and implementing proactive projects of the Council and the Trust.
- Cultivating strategic partnerships with Government departments as well as public bodies and private organizations.
- Undertaking any other duties related to the Council's business which may be assigned by the Chairman of the Council and the Trust.
Key Requirements
- Strong administrative and execution power who have extensive experience in managerial level and proven track record in managing and leading sizable teams in large organizations in delivering results.
- Have good sensitivity and judgement, in particular in wider community interest and Government policies.
- Excellent leadership, communication and presentation skills, strategic minded and be proficient in English and Chinese (including fluency in Cantonese and Putonghua).
- Experience in working in or collaborating with public organizations preferred. Interest and knowledge in arts and culture are added advantages but not mandatory.
- A university graduate with at least 20 years of post-degree working experience, of which 10 years should be in a senior executive position in a large organization.
- Possess an extensive network of personal contacts at senior levels in the arts and cultural sectors, as well as in the public and the private sectors are added advantages.
