Chief Operating Officer
The Samaritans is a non-profit organization offering confidential emotional support to people who are suicidal or distressed. Our large team of trained volunteers runs a 24-hour multi-lingual telephone hotline and an email service. Our paid counsellors also operate community-outreach programmes.

Working Location : Office in Chai Wan
Scope of duties of the COO :
- Enhance Visibility and Impact :
The COO will work to increase the organization's visibility and overall impact. - Technological and AI-based Improvements :
Design and implement technological and AI-based enhancements across various organizational aspects. - Fund-raising and Donor Relations :
Coordinate fund-raising efforts from a diverse range of funders, including writing grant proposals for mental health-related projects, as well as maintaining good donor relations. - Project Oversight :
Oversee the implementation of projects by counsellors and other staff. - Service Improvement Recommendations and Implementation :
Provide recommendations to improve the organization's services and offerings. - Financial Management :
Maintain the organization's accounts and develop cost-effective financial policies for sustainability. - Daily Operations Management :
Manage the daily operations of the Samaritans' Centre and office(s).
Qualities we seek in a candidate include :
- Understanding of and support for the Samaritan's vision, mission and values;
- At least 5 years of experience in administration and/or management;
- Ability to communicate in Cantonese and English, verbally and in writing;
- Excellence in publicity, including on social media platforms, and fund-raising;
- Excellence in organizational, communicative and time-management abilities; and
- Awareness and understanding of IT and, where possible, AI-based technological initiatives.
