Assistant Accounting Manager (HO/AAM/2025010)

Hong Kong Student Aid Society was founded in 1957 with the mission to provide needy children and youth with foster care, residential, education and community development services. We have over 5,000 registered users served by more than 200 employees. We operate 3 residential hostels, 7 small group homes and 3 schools. We receive lump sum grants from the Social Welfare Department and funds from other government departments, private donors and other sources. Our annual total expenditure is about HK$217 million.

We invite people with strong passion to serve children and youth in need to join us in the capacity of Assistant Accounting Manager.

Descriptions

The successful candidate will report to Head of Corporate Services and be responsible for the following areas :

Responsibilities :

  • Coordinate and prepare budgets, financial reports, variance analysis, cash flow forecast, treasury and management reporting tasks.
  • Ensure the compliance of appropriate internal controls and identify internal control deficiency of operational procedures.
  • Monitor ledgers, cash book and financial transactions of Service units.
  • Administer funding applications, utilization and balance, especially with regard to the government and Chest allocation.
  • Liaise with bankers and other officials concerning accounting transactions.
  • Update inventories of all assets of HKSAS.
  • Handle monthly payroll and taxation for both full-time and part-time staff.
  • Participate in ad hoc projects and assignments.

Requirements :
  • Degree in accounting, finance or related disciplines.
  • Candidate with Qualified Accountant (ACCA and HKICPA) is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years' working experiences in accounting and financial management. Prior experience in government, public sector or NGOs is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with strong work ethic.
  • Good team player with interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Highly organized and motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • Proficiency in using computerized accounting system such as Multiable.
  • Excellent command of both spoken and written English and Chinese.
