United College, established in 1956, is one of the founding colleges of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, with approximately 3,600 undergraduate students. The College strives to serve the people of Hong Kong, China, and the world through integrative education, pastoral care, and the moral and spiritual enhancement of the young. United College offers a wide variety of general education, student development, and exchange programmes to nurture students into becoming global citizens and future leaders.

The appointee will be responsible for (a) assisting the College Head, Associate College Heads, Dean of Students and Dean of General Education in the management of the College as well as provision of services and educational programmes to students; (b) assisting in the strategic development of the College and implementation of advancement and communication strategies; (c) overseeing College finances, budgetary control and planning, and human resources management; (d) overseeing campus facilities management; (e) providing management and secretarial support to the Board of Trustees, Assembly of Fellows and its committees; (f) enhancing relationship with trustees, donors and alumni; and (g) liaising and collaborating with various units within the University as well as external local and overseas partners.

Applicants should have (i) a good university degree, preferably a higher degree; (ii) at least twelve years' post-qualification experience; (iii) an excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua); (iv) excellent interpersonal, managerial, organisational, analytical and communication skills; (v) strategic thinking skills and capacity to adopt multiple perspectives to issues and to develop new ideas; (vi) proven leadership and a successful track record in developing and implementing new initiatives; (vii) proven capability in fund-raising and external relations; and (viii) effective time management, high productivity and multi-tasking skills.

Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for up to three years, renewable subject to mutual agreement and good performance. Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a written test.
