Senior Administration Manager (Social Responsibility and Sustainable Development Office)

The Social Responsibility and Sustainable Development Office of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) is set up to advise senior management on key areas of University Social Responsibility (USR). One of its core functions is to execute, evaluate and enhance the USR action plans outlined in the University's strategic plan. The office engages university members across units and coordinates their efforts in realizing CUHK's USR goals that are in line with the United Nations' (UN) Sustainable Development Goals, including the achievement of carbon neutrality by 2038. To maximize the impact of CUHK's USR initiatives for sustainable development, the office endeavours to develop and maintain strategic partnerships with local and overseas institutions. The office also operates the Jockey Club Museum of Climate Change and the secretariat of the Hong Kong Chapter of the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN Hong Kong).

Reporting to the Director of the Social Responsibility and Sustainable Development Office, the appointee will carry the job title of 'Head of Design Thinking' and (a) act as the office's design thinking specialist and strategist to facilitate project teams to innovate and streamline work processes through design thinking and design sprint (DTDS) methods as well as process management techniques such as automation and collaboration; (b) by adopting the DTDS approach, drive project teams to develop creative solutions for pain-point specific operations; (c) elevate the visual communication and creativity standards of the deliverables of the office, the museum and SDSN Hong Kong through impactful social media presence and other creative solutions; and (d) perform other duties as assigned.

Applicants should have (i) a good Bachelor's degree in a related discipline; (ii) at least twelve years' relevant experience; (iii) a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese; (iv) strong analytical and IT skills; (v) the ability to initiate, implement and monitor projects in the museum, education or cultural institution setting; and (vi) exceptional interpersonal skills, including effective listening, collaborating, negotiating and influencing. Knowledge of the Sustainable Development Goals and how institutions of higher education operate will be advantageous.

Appointment will initially be made on a contract basis for two years, renewable subject to mutual agreement. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to complete a written assignment.
