Child Life Specialist
Children's Cancer Foundation (CCF) aims at developing our services both on cancer and other life-threatening illness and would like to invite passionate applicants to join our team.
To cope with our service development, we are now inviting passionate applicant to join us in supporting and walking with young patients with medical complex conditions and their families at difficult times.
Descriptions
A profession with focuses on child development and promotes optimal development of infants, children and youth to minimise psychosocial trauma when facing a broad range of challenging experiences, particularly related to health care and hospitalisation.
Duties :
- Collaborate with families and health care providers to provide interventions that aim to enhance the child's abilities to cope with illness and treatment procedures in hospitals and community
- Attend recommended clinical training to attain the Certified Child Life Specalist (CCLS) which is an internationally recognised credential
Requirements :
- A degree holder in child life, social work, nursing, child psychology, early childhood education, counselling or another closely related field to human development with at least one year of experience in working with children, youth, and families
- Training in Child Life, Hospital Play, and Play Therapy is an asset
- Passion for child-centred care
- Mature, independent, energetic and capable to work under pressure
- Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese. Proficiency in Putonghua will be an advantage
