Vocational Training Council (VTC), established in 1982, has always been at the forefront of vocational and professional education and training (VPET). Major Duties:
To (a) provide stewarding services and support; (b) support and coordinate the daily operations of restaurants, including planning for the resources required for daily operations, managing the procurement, receipt, storage and inventory control of consumables to ensure smooth operations; (c) coordinate the installation, commissioning, operation and maintenance of equipment / apparatus; (d) maintain proper documentation to ensure the safety of restaurant operation and food and beverage production in strict compliance with the requirements of ISO22000 Food Safety Management System (FSMS) and / or HACCP system; (e) deliver catering services to guests and the public during daily restaurant operations; (f) provide logistics support to practical classes / events of the Institutes; (g) To perform co-teaching duties; and (h) supervise the work of students in training restaurants.

Requirements:
(a) A recognised higher diploma in the discipline of Hotel and / or Catering Management, or equivalent, and preferably with a Hygiene Manager Certificate or equivalent; (b) At least 3 years' work or teaching experience in hotel / catering industry; (c) Preferably with relevant work experience in fine dining and stewarding in hotels; (d) Good knowledge of trade specific terminologies; (e) Proficiency in spoken and written English and Chinese, knowledge of Putonghua is preferable; (f) Proficiency in common food and beverage point-of-sales system and basic computer applications; and (g) Ability to pass a trade test.

Notes :

  1. The post is at the rank of "Instructor".
  2. Candidates without the required academic qualifications stated in Requirement (a) above but possessing 8 years' work or teaching experience in the relevant industry may also apply. Where applicable, these candidates may be required to have a Qualifications Framework (QF) Level 3 qualification.
  3. Applicants with substantial experience and achievements in the relevant field but without the required academic / professional qualifications OR those with exceptional academic / professional qualifications but with less experience may also apply.
  4. The appointee may be required to perform duties outside normal office hours, work on shift over a full 7-day period and in designated places as assigned.
  5. In support of the Sexual Conviction Record Check (SCRC) Scheme launched by the Hong Kong Police Force, all prospective appointees will be requested to undergo the SCRC at the advanced stage of the employment process.
