The Social Responsibility and Sustainable Development Office of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) is set up to advise senior management on key areas of University Social Responsibility (USR). One of its core functions is to execute, evaluate and enhance the USR action plans outlined in the University's Strategic Plan 2021-2025. The Office engages University members across units and co-ordinates their efforts in realizing CUHK's USR goals that are in line with the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals, including the achievement of carbon neutrality by 2038. To maximize the impact of the University's USR initiatives for sustainable development, the Office endeavours to develop and maintain strategic partnerships with local and overseas institutions. The Office also operates the Jockey Club Museum of Climate Change and the secretariat of the Hong Kong Chapter of the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network.

The appointee will be responsible for (a) assisting in research and analysis, planning, development and implementation of the University's smart campus initiative; (b) collaborating with University units and external consultants to offer coaching and advice to the students taking part in the smart campus solutions competition; (c) assisting in the co-ordination and development of projects contributing to a smart and sustainable campus; (d) supporting committee work; and (e) performing other duties as assigned.

Applicants should have (i) a good Bachelor's degree or above in a related discipline; (ii) at least 3 years' post-qualification executive experience; (iii) fulfilled the English language requirements set out on the website : ; (iv) a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese including Putonghua; (v) a strong sense of responsibility and self-motivation; (vi) the ability to pay attention to detail; and (vii) good analytical, organisational, interpersonal and communication skills. Experience in smart project management and knowledge of smart city, IoT and other smart technologies, and the Sustainable Development Goals (in particular SDG 11 Sustainable Cities and Communities) will be advantageous.
