The Department of Social Work is hiring Senior Lecturer(s) / Lecturer(s). Applicants should (i) have a higher degree (for Senior Lecturer: a doctoral degree; for Lecturer: at least a Master's degree in social work or at least a Bachelor's degree in social work plus a Master's degree in a related field); (ii) be registered social workers; (iii) have at least eight years of teaching / professional experience and a proven record of teaching excellence (for Senior Lecturer), or at least four years of teaching / professional experience (for Lecturer); (iv) have at least five years' social work teaching / practice experience in one or more of the following areas: human behavior and the social environment; family services; family counselling; family intervention; social policy; social welfare administration; micro social work service; medical social work; mental health; and rehabilitation; (v) demonstrate the ability for high quality teaching at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels; and (vi) show firm commitment to social work education as well as excellence in teaching and scholarship.The appointees will (a) teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses during daytime and evening; (b) supervise and coordinate students' fieldwork in social service agencies; (c) assist in curriculum development; and (d) contribute their practical experience to teaching and curriculum design.
Appointments will initially be made on contract basis for up to two years commencing August 2024, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
