Responsibilities

• Act as a backup for the Laboratory Quality Manager
  
• Responsible for maintenance and improvement of quality assurance system
  
• Maintain the quality manual and associated operation documents
  
• Monitor laboratory practices to verify continuing compliance with documented policies and procedures
  
• Organize and monitor the progress of external quality assurance programs
  
• Monitor internal QC performance
  
• Setup or adjust internal QC range if needed
  
• Follow up corrective and preventive action plans of non-conformities
  
• Perform internal auditors
  
• Provide supervision and training of technologists and Phlebotomists
  
• Participate in the general routine and shift duty of laboratory
  
• Backup checking and authorize of laboratory reports before issuance
  
• Other job assigned by Laboratory Director to give a high quality service

• Master or above Degree in Medical Science in the List of Quotable Qualifications by Hong Kong MLT Board
  
• Part I technologist registration in MLT Board
  
• At least 8 years of clinical laboratory experience, 5 of which shall be post-Part I experience
  
• Should be trained in ISO 15189 quality system
  
• Effective communication, problem solving and time management skills
  
• Good presentation skill
  
• Ability to work with a team and independently
  
• Ability to perform audit, risk assessment and root cause analysis
  
• Familiar with running of Haematology, Clinical Chemistry, Blood Bank, Immunology and Microbiology disciplines
  
• Experiences in the preparation for laboratory and hospital accreditation
