The Finance Office of the University, which serves the full range of business and financial management needs in support of the University's mission, is looking for a seasoned and qualified finance and investment professional to assist the Director of Finance and Assistant Director of Finance in investment functions.
The appointee is responsible for the full spectrum of investment and treasury functions in relation to the University Investment Fund and Retirement Benefits Funds. Duties include (a) managing a multi-asset investment portfolio composed of equities, fixed income and mutual funds; (b) monitoring the performance of investment managers and overall investment portfolios; (c) handling cash flows management of University funds and two ORSO retirement benefits schemes; (d) performing research and financial analysis in making investment proposals for consideration by the Investment Sub-Committee; (e) leading system projects and processes re-engineering / transformation; (f) undertaking committees work for the University's Investment Fund and Retirement Funds; (g) liaising with relevant external bodies; and (h) performing other duties as assigned.
Applicants should have (i) a good Bachelor's degree or above in Finance, Accounting or related fields; (ii) a professional qualification in accounting, finance and/or investment (CA, CPA, ACCA, CFA or equivalent); (iii) at least twelve years' relevant work experience (of which at least five years at supervisory / managerial level) acquired in an advanced computerized environment of a large organization; (iv) strong analytical and quantitative skills, good leadership and interpersonal skills, good team-work spirit; (v) good understanding of the local and global investment markets; (vi) experience in investment management and retirement scheme administration; (vii) advanced skills in MS Access, Excel and PowerPoint; (viii) the capability to work under pressure; and (ix) proficiency in English and Chinese, including Putonghua. Applicants who have actual investment trading experience and are conversant with SAP system would have added advantage.
Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for up to three years commencing as soon as possible, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
