The appointee will report to the Head (Counseling and Wellness) in the provision of (a) mental healthcare services to students to achieve their recovery goals; (b) outreach, wellness promotion, medication management and prevention coordination; (c) intake screening, assessment and triage; (d) intervention and stabilization for students, faculty and staff in crisis situations; and (e) consultation services to faculty and staff regarding the mental health problems and development of individual students.
The appointee is expected to work in close collaboration with multidisciplinary healthcare professionals and academic departments / non-academic offices to help students resolve personal concerns and acquire the skills, attitudes, abilities and insights that will enable them to overcome mental health challenges. Irregular working hours and on call duties are required.
Applicants should hold a bachelor's degree in nursing from universities in Hong Kong or overseas. Master's degree in Psychology, Counseling or Education is an advantage. They should have at least 5 years of psychiatric nursing experience in community and/or clinical settings for bachelor's degree holders, or at least 3 years of relevant experience for master's degree holders. They should also hold the Certificate of Registration (Part II) and a valid Practising Certificate issued by the Nursing Council of Hong Kong. Completion of Post Registration Certificate Courses of Psychiatry (such as Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Nursing, and Community Psychiatric Nursing) is preferable. They should be fluent in Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua) and English. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as group work and crisis intervention skills are required. (Duration : 2 years, renewable)
Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided. A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
