Service Director

Established in 1926, Hong Kong Society for the Protection of Children (HKSPC) now operates 29 services units with about 700 employees, providing care, education and development support to approximately 3,000 children daily.


Key Responsibilities :

  • Report to the Deputy Director (Services) and act as a key member of the agency management team to align with organizational changes and goals.
  • Contribute and implement strategic business goals that support the Society's long-term development and sustain the business growth.
  • Lead the development of service strategies, human resources planning of subvented services and new service initiatives to meet the unmet needs of children and parents.
  • Oversee Social Work Service for Pre-primary Institutions (SWSPPIs) and ensure that services are operated in an effective and efficient manner, with good quality and a leverage on resources.
  • Liaise with Funders and relevant government departments.
  • Able to develop, conduct and implement researches on children issues and family support

Incumbent Requirements :
  • Degree holder or above in Social Work
  • Have front-line experience in children and family services
  • 5 years managerial experience / leadership position in family / children, gained from non-government organizations (NGOs)
  • Experience in supervising subvented service and pilot project preferred
  • Good team player with strong leadership skills / change management skills / interpersonal skills / presentation skills / analytical skills / problem-solving skills
  • Familiar with child care services / early childhood education and other relevant laws, regulations and government policies preferred
  • Highly self-motivated, self-driven, detail-minded and able to work overtime
  • Willing to work independently with limited support and under pressures
  • Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese
  • Well-versed in MS office applications such as Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook etc.
