Applicants should have (i) a Bachelor's degree, preferably with academic legal training or higher degree; (ii) at least eight years of post-qualification work experience at executive or above level in higher education / public sector; (iii) proven track record in management of Mainland China development matters and research funding, experience in handling contracts / legal documents would be an advantage; (iv) strong analytical ability and problem solving skills; (v) excellent organisational and interpersonal skills; (vi) excellent command of Chinese (including Putonghua) and English; (vii) the ability to work under pressure; and (viii) sound computer literacy.
The appointee will (a) proactively work with relevant stakeholders in support of the University's Mainland China development in respect of research and innovation; (b) manage Mainland research funding schemes; (c) lead the promotional activities / publicity in relation to Mainland research development; (d) administer external research grants (including but not limited to funding from Mainland China); (e) review and handle legal documents relating to research grants; (f) administer research prizes and awards; (g) prepare statistical and institutional level reports; and (h) perform ad hoc tasks.
Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for up to two years, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
