Functional Manager (carrying the job title of 'Capacity-Building Officer')

The Department of Social Work is recruiting a Functional Manager (carrying the job title of 'Capacity-Building Officer'), who will support implementation of CLAP for Youth ＠ JC ("CLAP") Phase II, a five-year project initiated and funded by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust. The Project aims to foster a sustainable ecosystem to facilitate youth with their transition from school to work, enabling them to pursue a fulfilling life through cross-sector collaborations in school, community and workplace.
Applicants should have (i) a Master's degree in Social Welfare or a related discipline; (ii) a minimum of seven years' post-Bachelor's work experience, including at least four years' practice experience in youth social work or a related field; and (iii) the following attributes :
- Values : Believing in the values of creating social good and social innovation; having commitment to promote youth development; and embracing teamwork and collaboration;
- Attitudes : Being open-minded and motivated to learn; and enjoy working with people from all walks of life;
- Skills : An excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese; excellent interpersonal communication skills; demonstrated good team management and organisation skills to lead and collaborate with dynamic teams; and the ability to work independently with minimum supervision; and
- Knowledge : Thorough understanding on curriculum development, pedagogical design and quality assurance.
Reporting to the Principal Investigator and Co-Principal Investigators, the appointee is expected to plan and execute the project's capacity-building programmes and capacity-building activities. He/She will be responsible for (a) preparing application materials of the Advanced Certificate Programme for institutional approval by CUHK; (b) developing the curriculum, pedagogical arrangements, learning materials and assessment schemes of the Programme; (c) developing and implementing quality assurance mechanisms of the Programme; (d) delivering aforementioned capacity-building programmes; (e) organising professional development training activities on Career and Life Development (CLD) for managerial and frontline staff of NGOs; (f) organising quarterly and annual gatherings of the community of practice for practitioners; and (g) performing other tasks as assigned.
Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for two years commencing January 2022, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
