Senior Technical Officer / Technical Officer / Laboratory Assistant (several posts) in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (Ref : 504674) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance).
Applicants should have a recognized Degree/Higher Diploma or equivalent; good knowledge in computer software operation, basic hardware (PC) setup, basic electricity and machinery operation; and not less than 2 years' relevant post-qualification work experience preferably in, but not restricted to the following areas :
- Microelectronics with experience in Chemistry, Materials Science or Science related subjects; chemical safety and related laws; vacuum equipment operation and maintenance, hardware construction, and machinery operation. Having ISO18001 knowledge and first-aid certification will be advantageous; or
- Electrical / Power Electronics with experience in circuit design, hardware construction, MCU development and machinery operation. Having the knowledge of Power-Electronic or the License (grade A) electrical worker and first-aid certification will be advantageous.
They should also have good communication skills, initiative, be self-confident and independent, and ready to work under pressure and meet deadlines. The appointees will provide comprehensive technical services for staff members in both teaching and research activities; manage laboratories and ensure its safety; purchase and repair equipment; prepare and maintain technical documentations; offer assistance to project students; and perform other duties as assigned. Applicants with less qualification and experience may be considered for appointment as Technical Officer or Laboratory Assistant.
