Centre for China Studies
The Centre for China Studies (CCS) at The Chinese University of Hong Kong is a department-level unit that commits to the highest international quality of interdisciplinary teaching and research on modern and contemporary China. The Centre offers English-taught undergraduate and postgraduate programmes (including MA, MPhil and PhD). Its multidisciplinary faculty and courses bring together students from Hong Kong, Mainland China, Asia and the rest of the world to learn through critical inquiry and interactive discussion in and outside classes.

The Centre is inviting applications for an Executive Officer II to support the Centre's daily operation and programme development. The appointee will (a) manage undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in Chinese Studies; (b) provide administrative support for the Centre's leadership; (c) liaise with the University's internal academic and administrative units; (d) handle budgetary and financial matters; (e) supervise staff and oversee office efficiency issues; (f) provide secretarial support to committees and meetings, including drafting reports, agenda papers and meeting minutes; and (h) perform other tasks as assigned.
Applicants should have (i) a Bachelor's degree; (ii) an excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua); (iii) fulfilled the English language requirement set out on the website : https://www.hro.cuhk.edu.hk/en-gb/languageforeo ; (iv) at least 3 years of post-qualification experience in administration or programme management; (v) excellent communication and interpersonal skills; (vi) strong organisational skills and attentiveness to details; (vii) the ability to work independently with strong self-motivation and under pressure; (viii) strong team spirit and sense of responsibility; and (ix) strong skills in computer applications. Knowledge of digital communication and design will be advantageous. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test on Chinese and English proficiency.
Appointment will initially be made on a 2-year contract with contract-end gratuity, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
