The School of Continuing and Professional Studies (CUSCS), founded in 1965, is a self-financing extension unit of the University with its mission to provide quality lifelong education to the community of all ages. The School offers a wide variety of full-time and part-time post-secondary, professional and continuing education programmes and general courses in diversified disciplines. CUSCS now invites applications for the post(s) of Assistant Staff Tutor to provide leadership to the professional team and oversee the operation and development of the School's full-time and/or part-time programmes.
Applicants should have (i) a postgraduate degree in a related discipline, preferably with a doctoral degree; (ii) at least ten years' senior education programme management experience plus post-qualification teaching experience, preferably in tertiary education setting; (iii) an excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese (including Cantonese and Putonghua); and (iv) sound leadership and effective interpersonal skills.
The appointee(s) will (a) provide leadership to strategise development of the School's programmes in diversified disciplines and management; (b) oversee the day-to-day operations and monitor quality delivery; (c) provide staff supervision for on-going development and training; (d) conduct on-going curriculum review to meet changing needs of learners; and (e) contribute to other new projects and initiatives of the School.
Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for up to two years, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement. Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a written test.
