Hong Kong Internet eXchange (HKIX) is a self-financed unit in the University. Its main business is to provide interconnecting services for different networks on Internet and its financial sustainability depends on the fees collected from its users. HKIX is looking for a suitable candidate that has both technical knowledge and business acumen in order to lead HKIX for growth and success in the future.

Applicants should have/be (i) a Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science or equivalent disciplines; (ii) at least ten years of relevant experience in internet infrastructure services or related fields; (iii) a minimum of six years of responsible leadership experience in management or supervisory positions; (iv) excellent in Internet eXchange operations, legal compliance, customer service, financial analysis, security certification, industry knowledge, accounting knowledge, IT knowledge, public speaking, problem-solving, plan implementation, critical thinking, interpersonal and presentation skills, motivational knowledge, leadership, time management, crisis management, risk management, budgeting and sales experience, strategic planning, business development; (v) exceptional oral and written communication skills; (vi) the ability to work independently and under pressure; and (vii) self-motivation and a strong sense of responsibility.

The appointee will (a) develop and implement strategic marketing plans; (b) organise events and exhibitions in Hong Kong and abroad; (c) direct and manage sales and marketing activities; (d) conduct budgetary planning and ensure financially sustainable operation; (e) set objectives and strategies for IT and network infrastructure development; (f) direct and manage IT and network infrastructure projects; and (g) manage around ten marketing / technical staff.

Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for two years commencing as soon as possible, renewable subject to mutual agreement.
