Occupational Therapy Assistant (two posts)

Department of Rehabilitation Sciences
The appointees will be required to (a) assist in conducting assessments and deliver treatments to clients at the Rehabilitation Clinic or during home visit / outreach service; (b) assist in preparing and operating the rehabilitation aids; (c) assist in production of pressure garments, splints and occupational therapy assistive devices; (d) assist in conducting talks and training activities; (e) carry out operations according to the safety guidelines; (f) be responsible for cleansing, sterilization, safety check and maintenance of the equipment; (g) maintain tidiness of treatment areas; and (h) perform administrative work. The appointees may be required to work on shift, outside normal office hours and in the weekends.
Applicants should (a) have an associate degree in Health Studies or disciplines related to Health Care plus at least three years of relevant experience in health care field; OR five passes in HKCEE including English Language (at least Grade C if Syllabus A; Level 2 if results are obtained from 2007 onwards), Chinese Language (Level 2 if results are obtained from 2007 onwards) and Mathematics plus at least five years of relevant experience in health care field; OR a combination of results in five HKDSE subjects of Level 2 in New Senior Secondary subjects / "Attained" in Applied Learning subjects / Grade E in Other Language subjects, and the five subjects must include English Language, Chinese Language and Mathematics plus at least five years of relevant experience in health care field; (b) have a certificate in Occupational Therapy Assistant; (c) be skillful in woodwork or craftsmanship, preferably with a recognised qualification; (d) have good computer skills in MS Office applications; (e) have a fair command of both written and spoken English and Chinese and be able to speak Putonghua; and (f) be self-motivated and able to work independently under pressure. Preference will be given those with working experience in clinic.
Remuneration and Conditions of Service :
A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointments will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement. Applicants should state their current and expected salary in the application.
