Registered Social Worker (Community Care Services) - New Headcounts

Senior Citizen Home Safety Association ('SCHSA') was founded in 1996 as a non-profit charitable organization with a self-financing model. Today it is one of the most established social enterprises in Hong Kong. SCHSA provides Care-On-Call Service, the most comprehensive 24/7 support service in the territory consisting of emergency aid, integrated care, around-the-clock guard, health management, active ageing services and day-to-day living assistance. Our mission is to enable all service users in their senior years to age-in-place with a quality life by leveraging technology and innovation to provide people-centric services.

We are looking for talented and passionate individuals who are interested in combining the challenge of running real businesses with the satisfaction of delivering tangible social impact and direct community engagement. We are open to strong candidates who consider this as their second career.


Responsibilities :

  • To conduct psychosocial assessment to identity needs of service users
  • To render counselling and making appropriate referral services for service users
  • To provide support services to service users' family members
  • To collaborate with professions of medical sectors, NGOs & government bodies for the welfare of service users
  • To conduct internal training related to case handling and psychosocial issues whenever required
  • To take up other duties / projects as assigned

Requirements :
  • Registered Social Worker, Diploma holder or above of related disciplines
  • At least 3 years of casework experience in IFSC / ICCMW / DECC / NEC / Dementia services setting
  • Preferable have received counselling training
  • Knowledgeable about geriatrics, mental illness, crisis intervention, case management and counselling is definitely an advantage
  • Familiar with community resources and referral systems
  • Passionate in serving elderly
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, problem solving & decision making skills
  • Good command of both spoken and written Chinese and English
  • Flexible, adaptable and able to work effectively in a variety of settings
  • Understanding of crisis management and the ability to deal with life threatening situations including the prevention of suicide
