Applicants should have (i) a good honours degree and preferably a higher degree; (ii) a high level of proficiency in both the English and Chinese language with a keen sense of using images to achieve economy and impact in communication; (iii) at least twelve years' post-degree experience, preferably at a senior level, in journalism or a communication / publishing-related profession; (iv) good communication and interpersonal skills to be able to work with various stakeholders of the University (students, staff, alumni), vendors, freelancers and members of the public; (v) experience in the local tertiary education sector and/or international high journalism; and (vi) familiarity with online publishing and the new media.

The appointee will support the promotion of the University's mission as a bilingual and multicultural regional centre of higher learning with an international outlook, and the achieving of the aims of the Information Services Office, namely, to provide efficient and timely services in the compilation and dissemination of accurate information about the University to its members, stakeholders and the public.

The appointee will (a) ensure the University publications within the ambit of the Information Services Office (both printed and online) to be up to the highest standard in terms of contents, language and presentation so as to serve effectively as official communications and chronicles of the University; (b) identify, curate and recommend new trends, interests, topics, themes, modus operandi, formats and/or publications in keeping with the requirements or development of the University; (c) supervise, manage and develop staff members of the content and creative teams of the Information Services Office; and (d) assist the Director of Information Services in formulating and implementing new policies, directions and practices and innovating appropriate changes from time to time.

Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for up to two years, renewable subject to mutual agreement.
