Executive Officer I (carrying the job title of 'Event Manager')

The appointee will take the lead to co-ordinate the Faculty for events and visits. The appointee will be responsible for (a) planning, executing, monitoring progress, evaluating and meeting milestones of the Faculty's events, programmes and visits for different stakeholders; (b) providing committee services and performing general executive duties; (c) building capacity in Faculty's strategic partnership and internal and external engagement; (d) supervising the supporting staff in delivery of the Faculty's events, visits and any initiatives; and (e) performing other duties as assigned by the Unit Head of the Faculty.
Applicants should have (i) a Bachelor's degree, preferably in Events, Communications or Marketing; (ii) fulfilled the English language requirements set out on the website : https://www.hro.cuhk.edu.hk/en-gb/languageforeo ; (iii) at least 8 years' post-qualification executive experience in event management, public relations or communications; (iv) an excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese (including fluency in Putonghua); (v) high self-motivation, resiliency and a detail-minded work attitude; (vi) the ability to multitask, work independently and efficiently under pressure; (vii) good team spirit with strong organisational, problem-solving and communication skills; and (viii) the willingness to work overtime and on weekends at short notice. Experience in the tertiary education sector will be advantageous.
Appointment will initially be made on a 2-year contract with contract-end gratuity, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
