Laboratory Assistant (holding the functional title of Veterinary Assistant II) (Ref : 201801627) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)
Applicants should have a Diploma, an Associate degree or a Bachelor's degree in Science or related disciplines. They should have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese; good interpersonal and organizational skills; the ability to work independently and be attentive to details. Experience in handling animals and laboratory work would be an advantage. The appointee will work with laboratory animals in an animal facility and assist laboratory / clerical duties in the mouse transgenic core facility. He/She may be required to undertake duties involving infectious and carcinogenic substances and is required to perform duty roster on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The appointments on fixed terms will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary.
