Assistant Registrar II (carrying the job title of 'Contracts Manager')

Applicants should have (i) practical and academic legal training, preferably with degree(s) of Bachelor of Laws, Juris Doctor or LLM, or equivalent; (ii) at least twelve years' post-qualification experience in drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts and legal documents, preferably gained from law firm or in-house legal department; (iii) good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua); (iv) the ability to work independently and as a good team player; and (v) high computer literacy in software applications including Microsoft Word and Chinese word processing.
The appointee will (a) review, draft and negotiate legal documents particularly in relation to research collaboration, clinical study, knowledge transfer and service contracts; (b) liaise and negotiate with internal and external clients to ensure that the drafting, negotiation and follow-up processes leading to execution of the documents are in compliance with the University's rules and regulations; (c) provide professional legal advice in relation to general legal matters; and (d) perform ad hoc projects.
Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for two years, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement. Applications will be accepted until the post is filled. Shortlisted candidates may be invited for a written test.
