Shelter Co-ordinator (Shelter Service)
Administering and Delivery of Assistance for Non-refoulement Claimants
A number of shelters will be opened for providing accommodation arrangement for vulnerable groups including unaccompanied minors, children in need of residential placement, victims of gender-based violence, and persons with mental and/or physical illness, and invite applications for the above posts.
(a) Provide and co-ordinate the necessary support, resources, supervision and leadership to ensure the provision of quality shelter to service users. (b) Ensure and facilitate the smoothing functioning of all aspects of the shelter in order to best serve service users in need. (c) Provide supervision, leadership and support to all shelter staff. (d) Provide crisis intervention and management for needy service users including seeking out specialized support and referrals to other agencies as appropriate.
(a) Completed tertiary education level or above. (b) Relevant education qualification and/or training in early childhood education, child care education, etc. are a distinct advantage. (c) Solid work experience in managing child care service / shelter or related service setting. (d) Crisis management and good supervisory skills. (e) Possess good knowledge in shelter service. (f) Organized, responsible, initiative, sound judgment and creativity. (g) Able to work under work pressure. (h) Good communication and interpersonal skills. (i) Ability to work well with service users and be patient with them. (j) Willing to work in shift duty, weekend and holiday shifts. (k) Good leadership skills.
Other Requirements :
Good command of oral and written English; fluency in at least one minority language and/or ability to communicate in Chinese is a distinct advantage; computer literate; experience working in a cross-cultural working environment; have a valid work visa and flexibility to work in Kowloon and New Territories Regions.
* Post will be on contract basis.
