The Centre for University and School Partnership (CUSP) and the Program for the Gifted and Talented (PGT) of The Chinese University of Hong Kong join hands with other tertiary institutions to form a cross-institutional consortium to promote school-based talent development and gifted education in Hong Kong. With the donation from the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust, a 3-year gifted education project, Jockey Club "Giftedness Into Flourishing Talents" Project http://www.fed.cuhk.edu.hk/gift , has been launched to develop a local school-based gifted education model and curriculum resources, provide professional development for teachers and support for schools, and conduct gifted education evaluation and research. The Project is now looking for a strong candidate to fill the following position.
Project Co-ordinator II (Ref : 180001RR) (Closing date : September 18, 2018)
The appointee will be responsible for (a) assisting in conducting training workshops for teachers and providing on-site support for schools; (b) arranging and providing logistical support for education seminars and conferences, and organising educational activities for teachers, students and parents; (c) assisting in developing curriculum and learning resources; (d) preparing communication materials, including but not limited to reports, press releases and newsletters; (e) liaising with internal and external parties; and (f) performing other tasks as assigned.
Applicants should have (i) a good Bachelor's degree, preferably in Mathematics or related disciplines; (ii) at least 2 years' work experience, preferably in co-ordinating large-scale activities or an educational setting; (iii) a strong command of spoken and written English and Chinese; (iv) proficiency in computer software applications, such as MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and Chinese word-processing; (v) an open, cheerful and positive work attitude; (vi) strong initiative and team work spirit; and (vii) excellent analytical, organisational, problem-solving and communication skills.
