Department of Mechanical Engineering
Senior Technical Officer (Ref.: 201801179) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal)
Applicants should possess a recognized Bachelor's Degree / Higher Diploma or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline. They should have experience in mechanical design and knowledge of CAE software such as Solidworks. Those with experience in CNC programming, 3D printing and/or workshop machining and knowledge of OHSAS 18001, relevant post-qualification work experience in the industry and/or tertiary education are preferred. They should also have a good command of written and spoken Chinese and English; and be confident, independent, and ready to work under pressure. The appointee will provide comprehensive technical services in teaching and research activities, laboratory and safety management, equipment procurement and maintenance; manage equipment of cutting-edge technology; prepare and maintain technical documentations; offer technical assistance to students; maintain inventory records and perform other duties as assigned. Those with a recognized Degree / Higher Diploma or equivalent in Material Science or Chemical Engineering / Science may also be considered if he/she possesses a proven knowledge of material characterization, chemical and biological safety and related laws.
