Assistant Team Leader
Mobile Information Service (Contract period : from July 2018 to June 2020)
To provide information of public services and assistance to newly arrived ethnic minorities (EMs) who come to Hong Kong for family reunion and permanent settlement, especially those from South Asian countries, including India, Nepal and Pakistan, etc., upon their arrivals at the Hong Kong International Airport
(a) Assist the team leader in the planning, implementation and evaluation of the project and its daily service operation at the Hong Kong International Airport. (b) Assist in the supervision of project staff and provide support and guidance to team members. (c) Assist in the administration work of the project. (d) Assist in the preparation of statistics and provide timely and accurate oral and written reports as required. (e) Represent agency in official meetings, conference, committees relevant to the project and as assigned. (f) Distribute information kits to service users. (g) Conduct briefings with newly arrived EMs. (h) Establish contacts with EMs through community outreach programme. (i) Collect data on the newly arrived EMs by questionnaire and follow-up services, and prepare required statistics and reports. (j) Provide translation and interpretation assistance to newly arrived EMs in simple enquiries, support during the immigration and customs process and facilitate communication between EMs and airport agencies at the departure and arrival area and other assistance as required. (k) Promote racial harmony and actively engage with the community organizations on the publicity and promotion of the service.
(a) Completed Secondary School level or equivalent. (b) Relevant work experience in ethnic minority service in a multi-cultural environment. (c) Knowledge of the needs of ethnic minority groups. (d) Organized and demonstrated good ability in managing, motivating and developing a multi-ethnic teams. (e) Mature in dealing with multi-cultural working environment and possess good cultural awareness and sensitivity to diverse cultures. (f) Hong Kong Permanent Resident or valid working visa holder. (g) Excellent oral and written English and able to speak at least one ethnic minority language (either Hindi, Nepali or Urdu preferable). (h) Ability to communicate in Chinese is a distinct advantage. (i) Able to work in uniform on weekends and public holidays. (j) Willingness to work on rotation shifts, statutory holidays and weekends. (k) Working location : Hong Kong International Airport.
Availability : Immediate.
Salary and Benefits :
Salary dependent on qualifications and experience; medical insurance; MPF and 15 days annual leave on the first year of service.
