Scientific Officer


Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering (Ref : 18062606-E)

The appointee will be required to (a) operate, maintain, repair and calibrate scientific and engineering equipment and software; (b) train users on the use of such equipment and software; (c) manage research and teaching laboratories in the Department; (d) undertake research and consultancy under supervision; (e) assist in the supervision of final year project; (f) assist research personnel in the operation of equipment; and (g) maintain the laboratory assigned in good condition and comply with the laboratory safety regulations.

Applicants should have (a) a recognised degree, preferably a higher degree, in Physics, Engineering Materials, Materials Science or Manufacturing Engineering with five or more years of relevant experience; (b) experience in research and engineering projects development, preferably in the fields of laser materials processing or advanced manufacturing technologies; and (c) a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese.

Remuneration and Conditions of Service :
A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement. Applicants should state their current and expected salary in the application.
