Mobile Information Service (Contract period : from July 2018 to June 2020)
To provide information of public services and assistance to newly arrived ethnic minorities (EMs) who come to Hong Kong for family reunion and permanent settlement, especially those from South Asian countries, including India, Nepal and Pakistan, etc., upon their arrivals at the Hong Kong International Airport
Post : Information Ambassador (Full-time and / or Part-time (1/3 time))
(a) Distribute information kits to service users, (b) conduct briefings with newly arrived EMs; (c) establish contacts with EMs through community outreach programme; (d) collect data on the newly arrived EMs by questionnaire and follow-up services, and prepare required statistics and reports; (e) provide translation and interpretation assistance to newly arrived EMs in simple enquiries, support during the immigration and customs process and facilitate communication between EMs and airport agencies at the departure and arrival area and other assistance as required. (f) Promote racial harmony and actively engage with the community organizations on the publicity and promotion of the service.
(a) Completed Secondary School level or equivalent (b) relevant work experience in customer service and social services field in a multi-cultural environment (c) Knowledge of the airport environment and needs of ethnic minority groups (d) Hong Kong Permanent Resident or valid working visa holder. (e) Excellent oral and written English and able to speak at least either Hindi, Nepali or Urdu. (f) Ability to communicate in Chinese is a distinct advantage. (g) Able to work in uniform on weekends and public holidays (h) Willingness to work on rotation shifts, statutory holidays and weekends (i) Cross-culturally sensitive and openness to diverse cultures. Working location : Hong Kong International Airport
Availability : Immediate.
Salary and Benefits :
Salary dependent on qualifications and experience; medical insurance; MPF and 15 days annual leave on the first year of service.
