Service Director

Since its establishment in 1926, Hong Kong Society for the Protection of Children has been constantly striving to provide quality care, education and social development of less privileged children for a bright future. We are now operating 27 services units and serving approximately 3,000 children daily.


Key Responsibilities :

  • Report to the Director and act as key driver of the agency development projects that align with organizational strategies and goals
  • Plan, develop and implement strategic business plans that support the Society's long-term development and sustain the business growth
  • Lead the development of service strategies, agency projects, human resources planning and pilot new service projects to meet the unmet needs of children / disabled children / parents
  • Oversee subvented and non-subvented/self-financed services / projects and ensure that services are operated in an effective and efficient manner, with good quality and maximize leverage on resources
  • Develop good funding proposals and build donor support and school liaison for non-subvented children / disabled children / parent projects
  • Able to develop, conduct and implement researches on children issues and family support

Incumbent Requirements :
  • Degree holder or above in Social Work / Family Therapy / Counseling or related disciplines
  • Have substantial front-line experience in children, disabled children and parent education / support services
  • At least 5 years managerial experience / leadership position in family / children / disabled children services, gained from non-government organizations (NGOs) and experience in running non-subvented / self-financed service or social enterprise is an advantage
  • Experience in planning, co-ordinating and implementing large scale pilot projects / agency projects / quality management projects that involve cross service units collaboration is preferred
  • Good team player with strong leadership skills, change management skills, interpersonal skills, presentation skills, proposal writing skills and project management skills
  • Highly self-motivated, self-driven, detailed-minded and able to work overtime
  • Willing to work independently with limited support and under pressures
  • Good commend of written and spoken English and Chinese
  • Well-versed in MS office applications such as Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook etc.
