Applicants should possess either: (i) a Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy from an institution recognized by the Pharmacy and Poisons Board of Hong Kong for registration; (ii) a Higher Diploma in a recognized dispensing-related studies programme conferred by a local academic institution; OR (iii) a Certificate in Dispensing Studies from the Vocational Training Council with 3 years' on-the-job training in dispensing organized by either the Hospital Authority or a recognized institution, inclusive of at least 1 year's post-qualification experience, or equivalent. They should also have 5 passes in HKCEE, including English (min. grade C if Syllabus A / Level 2 from 2007), Chinese (Level 2 from 2007) and Mathematics OR min. Level 2 or equivalent in 5 subjects in HKDSEE including English Language, Chinese Language and Mathematics, and fluency in English and Cantonese. Those with less qualifications or experience may be considered for appointment as Dispenser II. The appointee will assist in providing dispensing services and procedures including: (i) prepare and dispense drugs accurately and efficiently according to the medication orders; (ii) conduct patients counseling by explaining dosage, precautions and side effects of the medicine to the patients; (iii) assist in handling cash transactions; (iv) answer patients' inquiries; and (v) work with medical professionals from multi-disciplines to deliver the best customer services.
