環球精研與科創課程（GREAT）旨在培育有志投身科研及科創事業的專才，以研究主導，學生在第二年便可選擇主修科組，並在著名學者指導下從事自選的獨立研究。學生除於暑假時可在本地研究單位或科創公司實習外，更保證可到海外實習或學術交流。課程結合科學新知與創新技術，教導學生申請專利的技巧，以及有關知識產權、創業和商業策劃的知識。課程並獲香港工業總會支持，提供實習機會及師友導師計劃，協助學生建立業界網絡及掌握企業的運作模式。
The Global Research Enrichment and Technopreneurship (GREAT) undergraduate option aims to nurture students who are interested in pursuing a career in scientific research or starting a business that involves the use of new scientific discoveries and/or innovative technologies. In addition to knowledge in science and skills in scientific research and development, students can also learn about entrepreneurship & IP rights protection, patent application and research proposal/business plan development. Students can start their independent research as early as in Year 2.
Overseas academic/research exchange, summer placement in local research laboratories or technological startup companies, and summer internship in overseas research institutes or technological startup companies are guaranteed. Students will also receive mentorship by world-renowned researchers. The GREAT option is also supported by the Federation of Hong Kong Industries (FHKI), through providing mentorship and internship opportunities for the students.
