    The Master of Social Sciences in Counselling Psychology is designed to train students to develop a professional identity as competent counselling psychologists, who can use a holistic approach to promote psychological well-being in a variety of settings and populations. Graduates are well equipped to be practising counselling psychologists. An enhancement of their academic qualifications would advance their career opportunities.

    Full time: 2 years (4 semesters & 1 summer term), Part time: 4 years (8 semesters & 2 summer terms), both modes include summer semesters.

    Three dimensions: knowledge, practice and research. The internship and externship are an integral part of the programme designed to provide students with upervised workplace experience and requires at least two full weekdays per week. Students are placed in a variety of settings depending on their preference.

    The University provides further study opportunities for graduates of the MSSCP programme to pursue PsyD in Counselling Psychology to create leadership for the profession. Furthermore, the University is contemplating the introduction of MPhil and PhD studies for those who are more interested in research than practice. Graduates are also eligible to apply for registration with the Division of Counselling Psychology(DCoP) of the Hong Kong Psychological Society(HKPS) as members upon graduation, and as Registered Counselling Psychologists with one year's supervised practice.
